Refreshing new visual design. Slim, generally solid-feeling chassis. Stunning 4K OLED display. Easily capable of 60fps gaming at resolutions below 4K. Plenty of ports and useful extra features.

Design won't blend in, if you'd rather it did. Tobii eye tracking hardware minimally useful for most users, but tied to certain display options. Okay, but underwhelming, keyboard and touchpad feel.

Bottom Line: More exciting in function and design than the original, Alienware's m15 R2 gaming laptop delivers serious frame-rate juice and state-of-the-art features, including, in our test unit, a stellar 4K OLED display.

RAM can't be increased post-purchase. The laptop runs really hot at peak performance. Alienware's control software needs work. And, yes, the m15 R2 is expensive.
